Bastrop is the one part of our service area dominated by loblolly pine — the Lost Pines stand is unlike anything else in Central Texas. Pines behave differently from the hardwoods we handle elsewhere: they don't recover well from heavy pruning, they shed limbs under ice and wind loads, and once a pine is genuinely dead it deteriorates and becomes unpredictable to climb faster than an oak does.

After the fires and the droughts of recent years, a lot of the work here is removing standing dead and beetle-killed pine, plus reducing fuel loads close to structures. Clearing ladder fuels and getting dead limbs away from a roofline is straightforward work that meaningfully improves how a property fares in a fire.

Tahitian Village, Pine Forest, Circle D and the acreage out along the river are all in our regular run. Fencing here often means long runs across uneven, wooded ground, and we lay those out to follow the grade properly rather than fighting it.
