Lakeway is some of the most technically demanding tree work in our service area. Lots drop away steeply toward Lake Travis, access is often limited to a narrow side yard or a set of steps, and there's frequently no way to get equipment anywhere near the tree. That means climbing and rigging rather than driving up to it — which is exactly the kind of work our crew is set up for.

The dominant trees are live oak and Ashe juniper on very thin limestone soil. Selective juniper clearing is popular here for opening lake views, and done carefully it also benefits the oaks by reducing competition for water. Done carelessly it destabilizes a slope, so we thin selectively rather than clear-cutting.

Oak wilt is present throughout western Travis County, so oaks get pruned inside safe windows with sterilized tools and painted cuts. If you've got a live oak showing thinning canopy or veinal chlorosis, call us before you prune anything.
